Tristan Brookes Front-end Developer

Profile

Hey 👋 I'm a front-end developer. I've been making websites for over 11 years now as a freelancer and at agencies/startups.

I enjoy using front-end technologies, new ones and the classics, to build websites and I am also versed in back-end technologies and am capable of building an entire site myself. Asides from loving my career path I enjoy spending time walking, chatting (a *lot*), doodling whilst sipping a nice cup of Twinings Everyday and playing games with my friends.

Working as a senior web developer for a marketing and web development agency in Newcastle, NSW. Working heavily on front-end and WordPress as well niche applications and handling client requests as and when.

Front End Developer Freelance

March 2020 - June 2021

Whilst travelling / laying low during COVID I picked up smaller client projects back in the UK.

Full-Stack Developer @ Wild Dog

October 2019 - March 2020

At Wild Dog Design I created the front end templates for websites as well as work on integrating with CMS's. I help out other members of staff where needed and work on interesting application-like projects for clients too, most recently in Vue. I rebuilt our companies build process into Webpack (from Gulp). Funnily enough this is the same description as last time I worked here but with more balance between front and back end.

Front End Developer Freelance

July 2019 - October 2019

Took some time to recover from a slipped disc but kept freelancing in the meantime. Power through and all that right? Mostly worked with Wild Dog still and another designer colleague.

At Webhaus I continued my front end work in a freelance capacity. As well as still working with CMSs I'm also creating sites in systems like Jekyll and Shopify as well as using my time to learn even more new web technologies.

Mar 2011 - Feb 2015

At Code 7 as front end developer I was in charge of setting up websites front and back ends as well as making them look all sorts of pretty and functional. Asides from my tasks as front end developer I also helped clients with their ongoing support work and dabbled in a bit of hosting setup etc for the sister company and developed a fair few Joomla! modules.
